FMFI
Autumn
Symposium

12-14th August, 2017, Udaipur

Dear Friends and Colleagues,

We are delighted to announce, following repeated requests, an outstanding, clinically focused international meeting on Fetal Medicine. We will cover fetal sonography, with a focus on fetal cardiac imaging, but also provide significant attention to the general second trimester anatomic survey and the issues which get raised in screening for chromosomal defects and fetal structural abnormalities.

The meeting will be held in the beautiful city of Udaipur, by Lake Pichola on 12th, 13th, 14th August 2017.

State-of-the-art didactic lectures, filled with invaluable tips and pearls, will becomplemented with live-scanning to demonstrate concepts discussed during lecture time.

Day One

The morning session at RNT Medical College will focus on fetal cardiac screening exploring normal fetal hearts through lectures and live-scanning. This session is directed towards delegates who want to start from basics and want their foundation knowledge to become strong (Workshop 1)

The afternoon session will focus on the remainder of second trimester fetal imaging, and will be a progress from the morning fetal heart session. In this the Anomaly scan (Level 2 Scan ) (Workshop2) will be the focus with attention being paid to the identification of the common birth defects seen in India. Concepts related to Maternal serum screening and ultrasound soft markers for aneuploidies will be covered.

The simultaneous full day session at Fateh Prakash Darbar Hall will offer expanded fetal echocardiography, again with didactic presentations and live-scanning, but this time focusing on cardiac pathology. This session is directed towards those delegates who are comfortable with fetal cardiac scanning and want to learn advanced concepts (Workshop 3)

Day Two

Is primarily for obstetricians, perinatologists, fetal sonologists as the talks will develop this theme further by moving on to both antenatal and postnatal management of the commonly seen structural defects and other fetal conditions which are seen in day to day practice.

Day Three

Is for delegates who want to learn the fundamentals of Prenatal Diagnostic techniques. Fetal interventions most commonly performed will be taught as well as Basic Clinical genetics encountered in daily practice. This will be through simulation models.

The entire programme will be lead by leaders in the field of Fetal Cardiology and Fetal Therapy, Prof Mark Sklansky and Prof Greg Ryan. They will be ably supported by notable educationists from India.

As clinicians have different needs in their training all the different modules will have separate registration to suit individual needs.
We do hope to see you in the monsoon filled lake city of Udaipur in the weekend before Independence day

Best regards
Anita Kaul and Prathima Radhakrishan
